The Mists are short-lived instanced zones for solo players and duos. You follow a wisp in the open world, step through its portal and farm camps, chests and resources while other small parties do the same. After a long quiet stretch, Radiant Wilds Patch 3 (June 2026) rebuilt the rewards, and the Mists are a good solo farm again. They are also the way into Brecilien.
What changed in 2026
Radiant Wilds Patch 3 is the patch to know. The developers said the Mists had become too dangerous for average players and too poor for the risk, and changed this:
- Chests and boss rewards went up significantly.
- Mob damage, armor and health went back to their values from before the Horizons update, so camps are a fair PvE target for a wider range of builds.
- Matchmaking was randomised. You can no longer reliably meet a friend or a rival on purpose.
- Treasure Chests and Crystal Spiders spawn more often. Crystal Spiders sat out Season 33 and returned for Season 34.
- In Enchanted Mists, Fey Dragons, Griffins and Veilweavers spawn twice as often. Their artifacts craft Fey armor, so their prices should ease.
- Brecilien entrances no longer appear in unenchanted lethal Mists. You still find them in enchanted lethal Mists and in non-lethal Mists.
Earlier, Realm Divided Patch 3 (January 2026) raised the healing debuff to 40% in solo Mists and 35% in duo Mists. Builds that leaned on heavy self-healing are weaker than older videos suggest.
