Fishing levels from fame, and fish give fishing fame when you eat them as well as when you catch them. That second part is the shortcut. You can buy cheap fish on the market, eat them in town and level without casting a line, then add Learning Points and both fishing lines reach 100 far sooner than any amount of rod time would get you there.
How much fame the two lines take
- Fisherman is the first line you level.
- Fishing Specialist builds on it and needs twice the fame.
| Line, 0 to 100 | Fame alone | With Quick Learn |
|---|---|---|
| Fisherman | 4,015,146 | 802,987 fame and 716 Learning Points |
| Fishing Specialist | 8,024,452 | 1,604,852 fame and 1,428 Learning Points |
Fame you earn counts toward both lines at once. Taking both to 100 together therefore needs 1,604,852 fame and 2,144 Learning Points, not the sum of the two rows.
Quick Learn and Learning Points
Since Abyssal Depths, Learning Points work through . Fame on a node with Quick Learn active is multiplied by five, and Learning Points are spent as that boosted fame comes in. The total points a node costs did not change; you just spend them as you go instead of waiting for a 20% threshold like before. That is why the Quick Learn column needs exactly a fifth of the fame.
