Your first silver comes from plain, repeatable work in safe zones. Pick one method below, do it for a few evenings, and you will have enough for a real set, a transport mount and a reserve. Skip the "fastest silver" videos that send day-one characters into red zones. Those routes pay people who can afford to lose a set every hour.
Use the Journal first
Since the Abyssal Depths update (June 2025) a new character picks a starting path in the Albion Journal's First Steps category: Adventurer (PvE and the Marketplace), Duelist (early PvP) or Gatherer (gathering and fishing, no combat). Each mission pays a small reward, and the path unlocks the full Journal. You can switch paths at any time, and finishing all three gives a vanity hat.
The Adventurer's Challenge also pays every player a daily reward of 10 Learning Points and a T4 Tome of Insight, Premium or not. Claim it every day you log in. It costs nothing and adds up.
Start with one gathering line
Every crafter needs wood, ore, fiber, hide and stone, so raw resources always have buyers. Gathering needs no combat spec and almost no gear.
- Pick the resource that is common near your city, then check the Market Explorer to see which one sells best on your server this week.
- Buy the matching tool:
Journeyman's Pickaxe for ore,
Journeyman's Axe for wood,
Journeyman's Sickle for fiber,
Journeyman's Skinning Knife for hide,
Journeyman's Stone Hammer for stone.
