Every trade in Albion starts with two numbers per city: what sellers ask and what buyers offer. The Market Explorer shows both for one item at a time, with the city and the time each price was seen.
Sell orders and buy orders
- The lowest sell order is the cheapest price a seller is asking. Buy instantly and you pay this.
- The highest buy order is the best price a buyer is offering. Sell instantly and you get this.
The gap between them is the spread. Flippers live in it: they post a buy order a little above the best one, wait for it to fill, then list a sell order a little below the cheapest. The Market Flipping Guide covers that in detail.
Instant trades skip the wait and give up the spread. Orders capture the spread and cost you time and a setup fee.
Pick the right item first
Prices only compare when everything else matches. Before you read a number, set:
- Your server. Europe, Americas and Asia have separate markets.
- The item. Tier and enchantment are part of the item; a T6.1 sword and a T6 sword are different listings.
- The quality. Normal, Good, Outstanding, Excellent and Masterpiece each trade separately.
Outpost keeps each price with its own city, quality and side of the book. It never mixes a Lymhurst sell order with a Martlock buy order in one figure.
Check how old each price is
A price is a snapshot from the moment someone saw it. A sell order seen ten minutes ago is a good guide. One seen two days ago may already be gone or undercut.
Read the age next to every price before you compare cities. If the cheaper city's price is much older, treat the comparison as a guess and check in game before you travel.
Unavailable is not zero
When nobody has uploaded a price for an item in a city, Outpost shows a dash and Unavailable. That means no data, not a price of zero and not proof the market is empty. Calculators keep a result unavailable when an input is missing, so a gap never turns into a fake profit.
