Tracking turns open-world hunting into a short investigation. You read tracks with a toolkit, follow them through a few steps and corner a rare creature at the end. Solo trackers get a calm, steady farm; groups of four to eight hunt the large versions for better drops. Nobody can camp your target, because only your party knows where the hunt leads.
Getting started
- Earn a little PvE fame and unlock Trainee Tracker on the Destiny Board.
- Buy or craft a
Journeyman's Tracking Toolkit. Toolkits are made at the Toolmaker or bought on the Marketplace. - Use the toolkit in the open world (default hotkey U). Readable tracks nearby appear on your map.
Tracking used to start only in red and black zones. Since the Abyssal Depths update (June 2025) blue and yellow zones have T3 hunts made as an entry point: the Panther, whose Rare Animal Remains craft the Journeyman's Prowling Staff, and the Undead and Keeper Rare Quarries. Crowding does not scare these off. Learn the steps there before you take a toolkit into lethal zones.
Toolkit tiers
Each toolkit tier reveals more creatures, gives more tracking fame, speeds up interactions and widens the search radius. The table is the launch line-up from Wild Blood; the toolkit tooltip shows what yours finds today.
