Arenas are Albion's no-risk PvP. You queue, fight five against five on a fixed map and keep your gear whatever happens. They are the cheapest way to practise team fights, learn a weapon against real players and earn rewards without riding into a red zone.
The modes
| Mode | Format | Gear rule | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arena | Casual 5v5 | 600 IP entry, hardcapped at 600 | Learning a weapon, quick daily fights |
| Crystal Arena | Ranked 5v5 with a season ladder | Shown on the queue panel | Climbing ranks and season rewards |
| 1v1 Arena | Ranked best of three | Soft cap 900, 80% of the excess removed | Testing a build alone (limited-time mode) |
All are non-lethal. Your gear does not drop and you never replace a set after a loss.
The casual Arena's hardcap of 600 IP (Abyssal Depths update) is the detail new players miss. A T8 set fights exactly like a cheap one there. Wear whatever you want to practise with and leave the expensive gear in the bank.
Signing up for the Crystal Arena
You can queue solo, or as a party of 2, 3, 4 or 5. Groups of four were added in Radiant Wilds, which shortened queues for premades that were one player short. A premade five wins far more often than five strangers, but solo queue is how most players start. Talk to the Arena Master in any city; Starter Towns have one too since the Abyssal Depths update.
Radiant Wilds also added a new Crystal Arena map with extra chokepoints and flanking paths, so routes and timings from older videos may not match the map you load into.
Rules that shape fights
- Healing Sickness for double healers. A ranked 5v5 team that brings more than one healer gets extra Healing Sickness. One healer is the norm.
- Base tent. Since Radiant Wilds, attacking from the tent no longer removes its invulnerability. Standing in it heals 5% of your health and energy every second, starting 3 seconds after you enter. Reset there instead of dying for a trade you cannot win.
- Your faction flag stays up after an Arena match since the Abyssal Depths update, so you can queue between Faction Warfare sessions.
Ranks and seasons
Crystal Arena seasons run alongside the Guild Seasons. Since Season 26 the promotion thresholds are:
| Rank | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iron | 150 | 300 | 450 | 600 |
| Bronze | 750 | 900 | 1,050 | 1,200 |
| Silver | 1,350 | 1,500 | 1,650 | 1,800 |
| Gold | 1,950 | 2,100 | 2,250 | 2,400 |
You drop a rank when your points fall 50 below the previous rank's threshold. Falling below 550 in Bronze 1 sends you back to Iron 4. Rewards scale with your highest rank, so climbing matters more than grinding games at one rank.
The Crystal League got its own information panel in the Arena window with the Dragonfire update, so check there if your team wants to play scheduled matches.
The 1v1 Arena
The 1v1 Arena launched with Radiant Wilds as a limited-time mode for Season 32:
- Solo entry through the Arena Master, best of three rounds.
- Equipment soft-capped at 900 IP, with 80% of the excess removed. Combat potions above 900 IP use their 900 IP effects.
- Healing reduced, first by 40%, then by 60% after Radiant Wilds Patch 1.
- If a round runs long, poison gas closes in.
- Its own rank and Rank Points, separate from the 5v5 ladder.
In the October 2026 Dev Talk the developers confirmed it returns for the next Guild Season, Season 35. Old 1v1 loadouts are still in the library, such as the Light Crossbow 1v1 build, but several 1v1 favourites were nerfed during Season 32 (Skystrider Bow, Rejuvenating Flower, Shockwave, Mistwalker Hood), so check current values before you copy one.
Rewards
Arena rewards include Arena Sigils, spent at the Arena Master's shop. Crystal Arena avatar rings can be salvaged for sigils: Silver rank for 20, Gold for 40 and Crystal for 60. Royal Sigils come only from Arenas and Expeditions; the Artifact Foundry cannot craft them.
Picking a role
A 5v5 team wants a tank or bruiser, a healer, a support and two damage dealers. Solo queue rewards players who cover a gap:
- Healer is the role teams most often lack, and good healers climb fast.
- Ranged damage is the safest role to learn positioning in.
- Tank decides fights by where they start them.
Pick a build for one role and stay on it for the season. Look at Crystal Arena builds and plan a premade with Plan a comp.
Your first matches
- Play casual Arena until your rotation and escape feel automatic.
- Queue Crystal Arena in the role your team will need most.
- Stay with your team. Most solo-queue losses come from one player chasing a kill alone.
- Hit the target your tank engages. Five players on one target beats five duels.
- Save your defensive for the enemy burst, not the first poke.
- Use the tent to reset. Full health and energy beat a desperate trade.
- After a loss, write down one thing to change. Then queue again.
Arena wins also count toward Journal missions and achievements; see the achievements list.
