ZvZ (zerg versus zerg) is Albion's big guild PvP: dozens of players per side fighting over territories, castles, outposts and objectives. Your first one is chaos. Thirty players on voice, a caller shouting abilities and a fight that is over in forty seconds. You do not need to understand all of it. You need to be in the right party, in the right gear, and do what your party lead says.
How a zerg is organised
A zerg splits into parties, and each party has a job:
- Main party / engage: tanks and the caller. They start the fight.
- Healer parties: keep the frontline alive and cleanse.
- Support: cleanses, shields, damage buffs and crowd control.
- DPS parties: follow the engage and hit what it catches. Some guilds run a bomb squad, a DPS party that dives in for one huge burst of area damage.
- Battlemounts: special mounts used to disrupt or engage, ridden by experienced players.
Your guild's officer puts you in a party. Stay in it. Moving around because your friend is in another party breaks the plan.
Before your first fight
- Ask for the approved build list. Most ZvZ guilds keep one per role, with required IP. Builds depend on synergy, so a "good" build that is not on the list is the wrong build.
- Check the IP requirement. It varies a lot by guild and role.
- Join voice and set push-to-talk. Most callers want silence during fights.
- Learn the regear rules. Many guilds replace a set you lose in an official fight if you wore an approved build and followed calls. Some ask for a screenshot or a death recording.
- Bring the consumables listed with the build: food, potions and usually a spare set in the bank.
