The Mists are small instanced zones built for solo players and duos. You enter through a wisp in the open world, farm mobs, chests and resources, and run into the occasional other player doing the same. They are the best place in Albion to learn solo PvP without a gank group on the other side of the screen, and the way to Brecilien.
Finding a way in
Will o' Wisps float in the open world and open temporary portals.
- A normal wisp lets one player in. A greater wisp lets two in, which is your duo entrance.
- Mists entered from blue and yellow zones use yellow-zone rules: you get knocked down, not looted.
- Mists entered from red and black zones are lethal: full loot.
Start in yellow Mists. The PvE and the layout are the same, and a lost fight costs you a repair bill.
What rarity changes
Each wisp has a rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic or Legendary. Higher rarity means harder mobs, better loot and more enchanted resources. Rarer Mists also roll higher-tier zones, and Legendary Mists are always Tier 8.
| Rarity | Pick it when |
|---|---|
| Common, Uncommon | Learning the Mists, gathering with a mid-tier set |
| Rare | Your build clears its tier comfortably |
| Epic, Legendary | You want the best chests and resources and your set handles T7 to T8 mobs |
Resource wisps lead to gathering-focused Mists. They became rarer in 2025 but fill much better when you find one.
A solo loop
- Enter and look at the map. Note the exits and any camps or chests.
- Clear camps on your way across. Camps and rescued wisps also give Brecilien standing.
- Open chests when the area is quiet.
- Watch the edges of the screen for other players.
- Leave through an exit when your bag is worth more than you want to risk, or when the zone fills up.
Some lethal Mists have exits into Unstable Roads, which lead into the Roads of Avalon. Know where you are going before you step through one.
