Arenas are Albion's no-risk PvP. You queue, fight five against five on a fixed map and keep your gear whatever happens. It is the cheapest way to practise team fights, learn your weapon against real players and earn rewards without riding into a red zone.
Two modes
| Mode | What it is | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Arena | Casual 5v5 matches | Learning a weapon, quick daily fights |
| Crystal Arena | Ranked 5v5 with a season ladder | Climbing ranks and season rewards |
Both are non-lethal. Your gear does not drop and you do not need to replace a set after a loss.
Signing up
For the Crystal Arena you can sign up solo or in a party of 2, 3 or 5. The game fills the rest of your team with other players. A premade five wins far more often than five strangers, but solo queue is how most players start. The Radiant Wilds update added a new Crystal Arena map and improved group queueing.
Seasons and ranks
Crystal Arena seasons start with each guild season and continue through the off-season. Ranks reset each season. Rewards scale with rank, and each rank's reward can be earned only once per season, so climbing matters more than grinding the same rank.
During Season 32 a ranked 1v1 Crystal Arena ran as a limited-time mode with its own ranks and best-of-three matches. Check the arena panel to see whether a 1v1 mode runs in the current season. Players' 1v1 loadouts are still in the library, such as the Light Crossbow 1v1 build.
Arena Sigils
Arena rewards include Arena Sigils, which you trade at the Arena Master in each city for Gladiator wardrobe pieces, older arena vanity items and Royal Sigils. Sigils and what you buy with them cannot be traded to other players.
Picking a role
A 5v5 team wants a tank or bruiser, a healer, a support and two damage dealers. Solo queue rewards players who can cover a gap:
- Healer is the role teams are most often missing, and good healers climb fast.
- Ranged DPS is the safest role to learn positioning in.
- Tank decides fights by where they start them.
Pick a build for one role and stay on it for the season. Look at Crystal Arena builds and plan a premade with Plan a comp.
Your first matches
- Play casual Arena until your rotation and escape feel automatic.
- Queue Crystal Arena in the role your team will need most.
- Stay near your team. Most solo-queue losses come from one player chasing a kill alone.
- Focus the target your tank engages. Five players hitting one target beats five duels.
- Save your defensive cooldown for the enemy burst, not the first poke.
- After a loss, write down one thing to change. Then queue again.
Gear for the arena
Because a loss costs nothing, wear the set you want to practise with, on a weapon line you have specced. The arena is a cheap place to learn a new weapon before you take it into lethal content, and a good place to find out whether a build's rotation works against players who fight back.
Arena wins also count toward achievements such as "Blood and Sand" and "Gladiator"; see the achievements list.
